Together but apart was certainly apt for these celebrations….and Flushing was certainly no exception …although certain timings  may have been the same for the various parts of the village, all areas engaged in some form of neighbourly togetherness while keeping that  social distance!

Up in Tregew Close Robin’s amazing antique car was bedecked with bunting and neighbours all decorated their houses to add to the festive feel. Dressing up in red white and blue completed the look and strains of “We’ll meet again” filled the air. It was as if those remembered on this day who had given their lives, both then and now, had enabled us to put the problems of the world, for an afternoon at least, a long way away…. Something we should never forget.
